This study was to investigate the influence of parental intelligence on levels of emotional regulation and empathy among children. They were asked to complete self-report questionnaires on parental intelligence, emotional regulation, and empathy. Data were anlyzed using T-test, correlation, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis. The findings from the study indicated that there were significant differences in children's emotional regulation and empathy based on their age and gender. Second, some aspects of parental intelligence (i.e., mother¡¯s caregiving role, parental caregiving role), significantly influenced children's emotional regulation capability. Third, mother's caregiving role significantly influenced children's empathy. Limitations of the study and implications for future study were discussed.
